The America Online Users are experiencing a problem with online photos that Netscape and Explorer users do not have. This is an internet-wide problem, not specific to our site.

AOL compresses images to decrease load time. Their form of compression yields unreliable results. There is a way to fix this, however, just follow the steps outlined below. If this doesn't take care of the problem, call AOL technical support. You may find it easier to print these instructions so you don't have to switch back and forth between programs.

AOL 4.0 & 5.0

1. From the My AOL Button Menu, select Preferences

2. Click on the WWW button

(pc users only) 3. Select the Web Graphics tab

4. Click the "Use Compressed Graphics" check box to remove the check mark

5. Click on the Apply (pc users) or OK (mac users) button once this change has been made, you will need to purge any prior instances of web pages you may have stored in memory. This will allow you to see the effects of the changes you make.

PC Users: In the same AOL Preferences window, click on the General tab

1. Click on the Settings... button

2. Click on Delete Files... in the Temporary Internet Files section

3. Confirm the selection - Click on OK (It is not necessary to check Delete all Subscription Content)

4. Click on OK, to close Settings window

5. Click on OK, to close AOL Internet Properties window

6. Close the Preferences window.

To view the corrected webpage during the same AOL session, just click on the refresh symbol (resembles a swirling arrow ) at the top of the web browser. Older versions of AOL have slightly different setups, but the idea is the same.

Mac Users: In the same AOL Preferences window, click the www button again.

1. Under the "cache" sections, click the button to "Empty Cache Now".

2. Click OK.
